June 29 to August 31 :: Olympic Heritage Walking Tour

This easy walking tour explores Steamboat’s Olympic heritage; the multiple talents of Carl Howelsen; and the history of the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club, Winter Carnival, Howelsen Hill, and ski jumping. Once at Howelsen Hill, participants will witness the daring feats of ski jumpers soaring through the air during practice. All tour participants will receive a coupon for $1 off admission to the Tread of Pioneers Museum and a FREE ticket for the Howelsen Hill chairlift.

This easy walking tour highlights the historic buildings and architecture of downtown Steamboat Springs, town development, and the early settlers. Participants walk past and discuss many historic buildings including the Old Town Pub, the Pioneer Building, Pilot Building, and more. Celebrate the cowboy heritage of Steamboat Springs alongside the celebration of our country's independence. For 107 years Steamboat has been celebrating its cowboy history with a round-up on the 4th of July. The festivities include a cattle drive, a concert, a rodeo, and a fireworks display.

July 2 to September 3 :: Tread of Pioneers Museum’s Brown Bag Lecture Series

Come to the Tread of Pioneers Museum and discover the history of Steamboat Springs through the locals who lived it. Each one-hour program features a lecture topic that reveals the unique history of our area. Exciting topics have included the extinct mining town of Mount Harris, local outlaw stories, agricultural history and local family histories.

Steamboat Springs First Friday Artwalk

The vision of the Steamboat Springs First Friday Artwalk is to foster appreciation of the visual arts in Steamboat Springs and support the growth of the local arts community. Twenty four galleries and alternative art venues remain open for this self-guided tour and refreshments are served. Many offer changing exhibits, so there is something new to see each month.

Bull riding, team roping, steer wrestling, bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, barrel racing, tie-down roping, plus amateur roping and ram scramble and calf scramble for kids. The 30th Annual Hot Air Balloon Rodeo combined with the 35th Annual Art in the Park have become a staple of Steamboat in the Summertime. Join us for this spectacular early-morning affair with over 40 hot air balloons rising softly from the mist and drifting over the valley at Bald Eagle Lake. Later make your way over to West Lincoln Park for Steamboat's biggest arts and crafts festival. Art in the Park on Saturday is from 9-5pm and Sunday 9-4pm. The Tour de Steamboat is a non competitive, supported road bike ride. The two routes offer distances of a 40 mile ride as well as a 110 mile ride through some of NW Colorados most spectacular areas. The weekend begins with a benefit dinner with a silent auction supporting the Sunshine Kids Foundation. The ride begins at 7:00am downtown Steamboat Springs and completes with music and bbq at Little Toots Park.
