SSWSC Freestyle Program Honored
Publication Date: March 30, 2011
Steamboat Springs has long been a community with a knack for fostering Olympic level winter sports athletes. It boasts world-class facilities and terrain for all disciplines of ski and snowboard sports. Whether an athlete is keen on sticking with the Nordic tradition of skating, jumping, or classically sliding; fulfilling a need for speed in an alpine race course; rattling themselves silly in a bump course; or cramming as many tricks as possible in the hang-time granted by an array of jumps, Steamboat Springs offers a winter sports infrastructure to turn any Olympic dream into realization. It is a unique region with rolling hills like the Scandinavian countryside, in the middle of the majestic Rocky Mountains, thus offering the best of both worlds. Over 70 Olympic athletes have benefited from having their roots in Steamboat.
It comes without surprise that the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club (SSWSC) freestyle program has been recognized this year as the top in the country by the United States Ski & Snowboard Association (USSA). Such an honor, even with the premier training resources in Steamboat Springs, does not come without an incredibly dedicated team of coaches, as well as youth devoted to success on the mountain with an unwavering focus.
SteamboatSprings.com congratulates the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club, its athletes, and the freestyle program on its great achievement.
