30th Anniversary Christy Sports Tent Sale
Publication Date: August 20, 2010
For thirty years now Christy Sports has been setting up a tent in the Steamboat Springs Tennis Meadows parking lot - next to the tennis bubble - to flush out the retired season’s ski equipment and snowboard equipment in order to make room for the new gear to come. By now, it is safe to say nobody mistakes the tent for a circus that boasts the ever-frightening clown, so there is no need to cower at the sight of this tent. In fact, it calls for celebration, because you can waltz in and out with little impact on the wallet, and a truck load of ski gear and snowboard gear to make the next winter season the best to ever arrive. Christy Sports has long been a part of Steamboat Springs; it is embedded in the culture of the town – as is the tent sale, the event that outfits the residents of Steamboat Springs with killer gear at marginal prices. While you may be disappointed when you walk in without an acrobat in sight, the tent sale is bound to do you one better by providing you with the equipment to learn acrobatics of your own – on the mountain and through the air as you learn to jib in the park and flip in the backcountry. One might think that Christy Sports would hire an accompanying circus crew for this 30th anniversary snowboard and ski equipment sale – or at least a sword swallower or a lion tamer – but that would just be a plain distraction from the main event. The event that draws winter enthusiast shoppers year-in and year-out who seek to replenish stocks of high-end equipment snatched at prices that make the experience analogous to the act of plundering. This circus of a sale is in town from August 27th through Labor Day (Sept. 6) in Steamboat Springs.
If you are unable to take a gander at the incredible deals housed inside of the tent, you can view and purchase the full inventory online at ChristySports.com!
